A number of cellphone features increases while the cost per unit decreases. As the inventors would put it , “if it works, it’s obsolete.” And amongst the best features that each cellphone brand would vie for is the camera.
Much so that each blink of a person can be captured by camera phones/videos, a photo shoot in a studio still has that attraction for parents and kids alike. Remember the old family pictures taken in some small spaced studios? Well now, they have evolved into a production style photo studios.
Among these photo studios that we frequent are The Picture Company and Camerashake. Both are very memorable for us as it is in The Picture Company where Julia had experienced her first real photo shoot done by a pro while Camerashake covered for the photo and video of her first birthday and invitations.

Camerashake: Julia on Rocking Chair
What was good?
- Expert advise on the cutest productions fit for the baby’s/kid’s age – they got wide selection of costumes and props to have the full experience of what you want to depict in the photo scene
- The photographers were trained to handle kiddos – having the patience and the magic push of when is the right time to take the shot. All of a sudden the kid may smile then cry for no apparent reason
- And of course the laughter shared by everyone while viewing the photos, too bad we can’t take them all though

The Picture Company: Julia on a Blankie
- Make sure your kid is relaxed.
- Get the kid familiar with the place and the people around. Don’t rush into a shoot right away.
- Avoid going to the studio on his/her nap or feeding time.
- Bring your own costume or toy if you have. In this way the kid is familiar with something that is being used in the shoot.
- Extra hands are big help – whoever the baby is familiar with. In this way, you can take turns supporting the baby or preparing for the shoot, watch or cheer near during the shoot while the other one calls your baby beside the photographer
- Better if you can call for an appointment so as not to wait for a long queue and distress your baby. They have short attention span and will be restless if they wait for a long while. Better to use those energy in the shoot than loose them in tantrums. In the end, you may loose yours too and the supposed good time at the studio may turn into a mayhem.
