Recipe: Kani Salad

On January 25, 2009, in Food, Recipe, by mylifejoys

With all the cholestererol-full of foods that we were preparing for the Holidays, it came to my mind to prepare something that is seemingly healthy – a vegetable salad. A Kani Salad.

So how I did it? No cookbooks, just from the memory of how Kani Salad looks like in Japanese restos…

Ingridients:

Carrots and Cucumber, julliened

Crab Sticks, strips (I had it boiled though for some people it’s okay as it is)

Strips of ripe Mango

Japanese Mayonnaise

Sesame Oil

Some Salt and Pepper

Procedure:

Mix all ingridients.

Chill.

Serve.

Enjoy :)

That’s it.

Hi Irene, yup it’s cheaper for large batches to make them at home for this recipe, kani salad, than buying from resto :)

Hello there. Try it with a little kikkoman, it does wonders. I discovered it when I asked hubby to buy me kani salad (take out) in one of the Jap resto near Don Bosco Makati. Apart from the Jap mayo, they also had a separate plastic container for a soy sauce-looking condiment. I assumed it’s kikkoman so I tried it when I made my own kani salad. And it tasted much better!
