Fresh, plentiful, reasonably-priced, and casual as a trattoria should be, Amici (means friends in English) is unpretentious in its line of serving Italian food. It is different than some Italian-sounding restaurants that mistakenly label themselves as such just because pasta and pizza are in the menu. Who would have thought that there is such a dining pleasure in Don Bosco Compound along Arnaiz Avenue, Makati City. If you are in Walter Mart, cross Chino Roces and next to a Merriam Webster bookstore is Amici.
As I entered , I noticed big tables, that are suggestive of large group of diners or simply sharing a large table with others and surprisingly be comfortable still with strangers in a single table. As it was still early in the morning when I came in with a dear friend, Raziel, we ordered breakfast set of Italian Sausage, ham and cheese omelet (or bell pepper and mushroom), garlic rice (or French bread), and brewed coffee (or hot chocolate).
