Yes, the world stopped spinning in less than six minutes. Then the last ten seconds, there was a sudden movement when almost all Filipinos jumped in victorious cheers as Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao won the title for the IBO Light Welter Weight division that Ricky “Hitman” Hatton as the current title holder.
In the battle dubbed as East Meets West, Pacman won by knocking out Hitman in the last ten seconds of 2nd Round. In the first round, Pacman has knocked down Hitman twice. From there, many Filipinos, and later even Manny admitted, that the game is Manny’s.
In every Manny Pacquiao game, crime rate is at the lowest (or zero) during the show time. Filipinos in all walks of life set aside their differences and become one in watching, praying, and cheering for the “Pambansang Kamao.” It is such a privilege for the Pinoys of this generation to witness such historical milestone in a sport where another Pinoy is the Pound for Pound Champ. Even Bob Arum, a professional boxing promoter, has claimed that he has not seen such combination of talent and speed that Pacman has.
To Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Team Pacquiao (headed by Coach Freddie Roach) who has been dedicating every game to Filipinos worldwide, Congratulations!
