In one of my visits in SM Hypermart Pasig, this whitish-yellowish bags piled by the cut flowers section got my attention. When I read the tag, it says “Oyster Mushroom Fruiting Bag.” Said to myself, “Well okay, let me try this… Php 50 is not bad enough to try it out.”
At home it was the first thing I unpacked. According to instruction, the bag should be placed in a damp or moist area such as the sink and remove the cotton plug. Sprinkle water 3x a day… So I did. A week after, there were some small cottony patches that appeared. Two days after, those patches were already little mushroomy-looking things starting to sprout. I left the house one morning and then in the evening here is what happened:

Everyday the whole family looks forward to the changes that happen in our kitchen as the mushroom started growing. My brother even asked me why buy the bag when I can buy the fruit anytime, all I said was that it is an accomplishment to see them grow and harvest fresh ones to be added to some fish or stir fry dishes.

Grilled Chicken Breast with Mushroom Gravy
Scarcity requires choice… the pantry supplies has been running low and has not been replenished since the weekend. Grocery stores are closed for two days (Maundy Thursday and Good Friday). After deciding on the chicken breast fillet from the fridge, there are two packs of McCormick Mushroom Gravy mix. It is decided. I have chosen. It shall be Grilled Chicken with Mushroom Gravy.
I am not a chef, my cooking experience is confined only to the four corners of our home and my clientiele is composed of family members (who will love me no matter what becomes of this chicken) so that the measurement of ingredients depend solely if the food tastes right so far
So here is a simple and easy to cook recipe that requires just about anything instant around the kitchen. This will take about 30-40 minutes cooking time.
